A Little Charmer

The other day I watched this unassuming movie. I had actually received it from Netflix, and as usually happens, I could not recall why I had chosen to place it in my queue or what it was about. So, without knowing whether it was a suspense thriller or comedy, I slipped it into the player, and was charmed. It is very funny and well acted. While the ending is not surprising, it is still well worth watching.

  1. Hi Jennifer,
I'll look out for it. Since blogging I haven't been watching any TV, not that I watched much before but I had a few favourites like the chef programmes and house design and rennovation - Grand Designs was a wonderful English series.
This netflix I hear people talk about is it an internet -mail movie supplier?
I read Slum Dog M. on the plane to NZ still haven't seen the movie. I have spells where I go to the movies -usually in the winter on a bad day to a daytime screening. But mostly I hate to be inside in the dark in the daytime and I'm too lazy to go out at night - there goes my movie ops!

  3. Delwyn, I agree! Since good weather is so scarce, there is no way that I'll go inside to watch a movie then. But, in the evenings, after dark, after blogging or if I am too tired, I like to watch movies. Netflix is the internet DVD shipping company. They have a great selection, I can keep them as long as it takes me to get around to watching, and the turn around is only a couple of days. And now I have a super HD computer with BluRay DVD player (the prize I got when my computer died a few weeks ago), so I can watch them on my laptop. Okay, now I sound like a representative for Netflix, and that I watch movies every day! Really instead, I stay outside until dark, then read, blog or other computer research.

  4. I LOVE it when I stumble across movies like that! I can recommend two that came to mind at the moment I read this..."The Heart is a Lonely Hunter" and "84 Charing Cross Road".

What kind of films do you like the most? Romance stories, comedies, action flicks, intimist cinema, thrillers, courtroom dramas?

Something About Sunsets

There is something about sunsets that always makes me melancholy.  Dylan Thomas whispers in my ears.  "Do not go gentle into that goo...
