Spring is in the air

I decided to celebrate the feeling of Spring
by bringing flowers to the office.
Flowers are such a happy luxury - necessity.
I can't help but smile in the florists' shop,
the damp, fragrant air,
the sound hush, somehow,
maybe from all the leaves, petals and dirt,
singing their own soft song.

I celebrate the feeling of Spring on
Morning walks so balmy,
that vernal pools from the day's melting snow,
remain unfrozen overnight,
to welcome sleepy eyes with glittering reflections,
and whispered trickles.

  1. "To welcome sleepy eyes with glittering reflections, and whispered trickles." I can feel the hint of warmth of sun on an upturned face, hear the dripping of water breaking free from its icy state. Thanks for sharing a feast for my senses.

  2. Hi Jennifer

you and that camera of yours are making a great team...and your words today are so poetic...Meri has copied the line that tempted my senses...

I like to have flowers in the house and indulge each week at the farmers' markets where beautiful tropical flowers are found.
I get such pleasure from them over and over again...and then you can always photograph them too...

    Happy days

  5. Delwyn, I think the photos of your flowers were an inspiration. It's amazing to me how much single bouquet of flowers can impact my who physical state. The idea of a farmer's market in a tropical climate is so tantalizing.

Something About Sunsets

There is something about sunsets that always makes me melancholy.  Dylan Thomas whispers in my ears.  "Do not go gentle into that goo...
